FAQs

What does Signal Access actually do?

1

I build custom AI implementations for service businesses — typically replacing one specific workflow that's costing you revenue. Most common: AI intake agents that answer phones or web inquiries 24/7, AI lead-response systems that reply to inbound leads in under 60 seconds, and AI dispatchers that triage incoming work to the right person at the right time. Not a chatbot. Not a generic platform you have to figure out yourself. A built-for-you system that solves one specific operational problem.

What's a Core build?

2

A 14-day engagement, fixed at $4,500. You get one production AI agent configured for one workflow, integrated with up to two of your existing systems (calendar, CRM, phone, email), a runbook for your team, and 30 days of post-launch tuning. 50% deposit on signing, 50% at delivery. Stripe payment, electronic signature, no surprises.

I don't understand AI. Will I be lost during this?

3

You don't need to understand AI any more than you need to understand the inside of your phone to use it. My job is to handle the technical side. Your job is to know your business — what the workflow looks like today, what success looks like 30 days from now, where your team is bleeding time. That's it. We talk in operational terms, not technical ones.

Will this replace my employees?

4

Almost never. The AI handles the volume your team can't get to today — the after-hours calls, the leads that came in during a meeting, the dispatch queue at 7 PM. Your employees don't lose work; they get unburdened from the work that was already falling through cracks. The result is your team doing the high-judgment work humans are good at while the AI handles the high-volume work that was previously costing you money.

What if it breaks or doesn't work the way I expected?

5

Built into every Core engagement: 5 business days post-delivery to test against the success criteria we agreed on, plus 30 days of tuning included. If something's not landing, we fix it. If a deeper change is needed, we scope it as a Change Order with full transparency.

What do I need to provide?

6

A point of contact who can make decisions, access to the relevant systems we're integrating with (credentials, not your password — proper API/OAuth), 10-20 sample interactions from the last 30 days so the AI is trained on how your team actually communicates, and timely feedback when I ask for it. That's the whole list.

How is this different from a chatbot?

7

Chatbots are decision trees pretending to be intelligent. They follow scripts and break the moment a real human goes off-script. What I build actually understands what someone is saying — voice, text, or web — and decides what to do based on context, not a flowchart. The difference becomes obvious within 30 seconds of using one vs. the other.

What's the ongoing cost after the build?

8

The Core fee covers the build plus 30 days of tuning. After that, you're responsible for your own third-party service costs (LLM API, telephony provider, etc.) — typically $50-300/month depending on volume. No mandatory ongoing retainer. Some clients add a monthly retainer for continuous improvement; that's optional and priced separately.

What systems can you integrate with?

9

The common ones — Google Calendar, Outlook, HubSpot, Salesforce, Pipedrive, Twilio, Calendly, OpenPhone, ServiceTitan, basic SMTP/IMAP for email, most major scheduling and CRM platforms. If your stack is unusual, we'll talk through it on the fit call.

How do I know if my business is a fit?

10

You're a fit if (a) you have a workflow that's clearly bleeding revenue today — missed calls, slow lead response, dispatch chaos, no-shows — and (b) you can articulate what success looks like in 30 days. If neither of those is clear yet, the fit call is the right starting point. I'd rather tell you "this isn't the right time" than sell you something that won't move the needle.

What does the engagement look like day-by-day?

11

Day 1 is a 60-minute kickoff call where we lock in scope and what success looks like. Days 2-10 I'm building, with a daily one-paragraph update from me — no standing meetings. Day 13 you get test access plus a test conversation library to validate against your success criteria. Day 14 is delivery and a 60-minute handoff session. Days 15-44 is the tuning window where I refine based on real usage.

What if I need something bigger or more complex than the Core build?

12

Premium engagements are scoped separately based on what you actually need — typically multi-workflow, multi-integration, or longer timelines. We'd have that conversation on the fit call. There's also a retainer option for ongoing build work after the first engagement.
